The Hotel Caprera was completely refurbished in January 2005. It is situated in Venice's historical and artistic center, near Canal Grande in Sestiere, a short walk from Venice railway station. Santa Lucia and Canal Grande are 10 minutes from the parking facilities at Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto.
From the hotel you can visit the Ghetto of Venice, the Church dei Frari, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the University of Ca' Foscari.
The nearest boat-stop is "Ferrovia" that's about 200 meters walking.
From Marco Polo Venice airport (VCE):
- Take bus number 5 to Venice.
- In about 15 minutes you will arrive in Piazzale Roma, get off here.
- Walk on Fondamenta of Piazzale Roma and cross the bridge over the railway station (Ponte degli Scalzi).
- Turn to right after you have crossed the bridge.
- Continue for 200 metres and you will find the hotel on your left.
If you don’t want to walk, you can catch the public boat service crossing the Grand Canal and get off at the 1st stop - Ferrovia (Railway Station).
From Sant’Angelo Treviso Airport (TSF):
Take the Airways Shuttle Service to Venice Piazzale Roma (approximately one hour). Then, as above.
From Venezia Santa Lucia railway stations (Main Venice Railway Station):
Out of the Railway station walk for 200 metres on the left-hand side and you will find the hotel.
From Venezia Mestre railway station:
You can catch all the trains for Venice Santa Lucia direction.
When you arrive in Venezia Santa Lucia Railway Station, walk for 200 metres on the Lista di Spagna on the left-hand side and you will find the hotel.
Please note: main Venice Railway Station is Venezia Santa Lucia, not Venezia Mestre.
By car:
From the motorway:
- Follow the Venice road signs (to arrive in Venice and not in Venice Fusina Terminal).
- Once in the city, follow signs for Piazzale Roma.
You can park in Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto areas.
