2 generations of the Varley family have created a special atmosphere of warmth and comfort for over 25 years.
Once the distinguished residence of the descendants of William Marshall, the Earl of Pembroke and founder of the historic 12th century Cartmel Priory, Aynsome still echoes with the character and and traditions of that bygone era.
By Car:
- Leave the M6 at junction 36 and take the A590 for Barrow-in-Furness.
- After 3 miles, the A590 bares off to the left.
- Follow the road for another 6 miles.
- At the roundabout turn right, still following the A590.
- At the top of the long steep hill where the dual carriageway finishes at Lindale, take the next left hand turn for Cartmel (3 miles).
- At the end of the road turn left and follow this road for a further 2 miles.
- Look out for the hotel sign in the field on the right half a mile before reaching the village.
- At the end of the lane turn right.
